Parkers Chapel tops Woodlawn

PARKERS CHAPEL TOPS WOODLAWN

Parkers Chapel’s defense held Woodlawn scoreless in the second half on their way to a 28-14 victory on Friday in Parkers Chapel. The Trojans improved to 4-1 and 1-1 in the 8 2A. The Bears fell to 3-1, 0-1. Woodlawn scored first on a 5-yard quarterback keeper by Dalton Rissinger at the 8:33 mark in the first quarter giving the Bears a 6-0 lead. However, the Trojans would answer as Dezmon Jackson sprinted 65 yards for a touchdown with 7:42 left in the opening quarter. Kade Cushing’s extra point gave the Trojans a 7-6 lead. Woodlawn opened the second-quarter with a score to take a 14-7 lead as Rissinger bolted in from four yards out with 9:41 left in the half. Parkers Chapel’s Amonta’ Harris’ 46 yard touchdown run with 9:09 left in the half would tie the game at 14 all. However, the Trojans would strike again before the half as Harris connected with Canon Morgan for a 26-yard touchdown pass to give the Trojans a 21-14 lead. Jackson would score the last points of the game by jetting 55-yards with 10:49 left in the third quarter giving the Trojans a 28-14 Homecoming victory.
