For an intense defensive battle for the title, the Jr. Lady Bears stepped up big with defense to outlast Parkers Chapel Jr. Trojans in a low scoring affair in the championship game. Parkers Chapel was held to only two points scored apiece in the first and second periods with the Jr. Lady Bears outscoring them to take a 10-4 lead into the locker room at halftime. In the second half, the Jr. Lady Trojans outscored Spring Hill 16-13, but both teams’ defense held each other under double-digits with the Jr. Lady Bears executing down the stretch to be victorious to capture the district tourney title. For the game, Jr. Lady Bears’ Chambless and Runion led scoring with eight points apiece, Reed finished with five points and Rilee Hammonds contributed two points in victory.
