Bears battle strong in tough loss to PC

BEARS BATTLE STRONG IN TOUGH LOSS TO PC

The Spring Hill Bears had two tough match-ups on the hardwood in previous games hosting the Lafayette County Cougars on Homecoming night at home and on the road against the Parkers Chapel Trojans. The Bears kept it close against the Cougars last Friday night in Spring Hill for the final game in the featured nightcap battle. The Bears had a nine point deficit at halftime to Lafayette County 30-21. In the second half, the Bears out-scored the Cougars 29-25, but Lafayette County came way victorious for a 55-50 win over Spring Hill in conference action. For the game, Bears' big man Will Walton led scoring with 12 points, Cameron Middleton scored 11 points and Ross Townsend added 10 points for a triple player scorers in double-figures. Daden Reed posted nine points, Josh Winfield had seven points and Drake Kidd chipped in one point. On this past Monday night, the Bears traveled to Parkers Chapel for senior high hoops. The Bears fought hard, but the PC Trojans rolled away victorious 85-50. For the game, Bears' Payton Massanelli led scoring with 14 points, Walton followed with 12 points for double-figures. Winfield and Middleton each had five points apiece, Kaleb Blair scored four points, Hays Martin contributed three points, Drake Kidd, Reed and Townsend all added two points apiece. Zheng Liu chipped in one point for the Bears. This Thursday night Feb. 2, the Bears will travel to Cougar country to conclude their series meeting against Lafayette County for senior high hoops at Cougar Arena.
